CAMP ASH GROVE-A Tour of Stockbridge-June/July 2004 -page 12

The Hittys saw three more fairytale buildings on the opposite side of the street from the library, as Sara drove slowly out of Stockbridge late that afternoon:

They didn't see much after that, however.

"It's certainly what I expected, poor dears," said Hitty Louise, tucking a soft old hankie up around Hitty Flower, and spreading an afghan over a snuggled group of Thompsons. "I knew they wouldn't last long!"

Mrs. Plum surveyed the campers with satisfaction. After scrambling up inside the car to see the last of Stockbridge that they could, the Hittys and stumbled and tumbled back into their cozy travel bags, and curled up for a camp-wide nap!

"And they might as well, after all, it's about six hours home to Camp Ash Grove from here!"
